This is an introduction in extending php. So what is a php extension and for what do I need it? We will describe the first steps as well as basics like zval. Furthermore we will give short overviews of several subtopics like functions, OO, and tools (ext_skel, pecl_gen).

User and right management is often required in webprojects, as it is base for any kind of community based site. This session will focus on the PEAR::LiveUser and PEAR::LiveUser_Admin packages. Because of the container based design of LiveUser it looks quite complex for beginners. The speech should reduce startup problems and show the power of that package
