PHP 7.4 brings a lot of new exciting features and one of them is the PHP Foreign Function Interface extension built directly into the core. But what problems is this extension intended to solve? Does this mean that we no longer need to write a PHP extension if we want to use an existing library? In this talk, we will discover together how to easily call almost any C library directly from PHP. Why do we want to do this? How do we overcome common pitfalls?
